Job Summary
The Teacher Development & EdTech Consultant will support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of digital learning and teacher professional development initiatives under UNICEF Ethiopia’s education program. The consultant will collaborate with government institutions, development partners, schools, and education stakeholders to improve access to quality digital education and innovative learning solutions.
The role requires expertise in educational technology, teacher training systems, learning management systems, digital content development, and instructional design. The consultant will also support the integration of inclusive and learner-centered teaching methodologies aligned with national and international education standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement digital learning and teacher development strategies.
- Support the development and rollout of digital learning platforms and educational technologies.
- Provide technical assistance in teacher professional development (TPD) programs.
- Develop digital training materials, instructional resources, and e-learning content.
- Coordinate training workshops, seminars, and capacity-building activities for teachers and education officials.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of EdTech and digital learning interventions.
- Collaborate with government ministries, schools, and development partners to strengthen education systems.
- Ensure learning programs are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.
- Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
- Support field missions and stakeholder engagement activities across different regions.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, or related fields.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in teacher training, digital learning, educational technology, or project management.
- Strong understanding of Learning Management Systems (LMS), especially Learning Passport platforms.
- Experience in digital content creation and online learning methodologies.
- Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and inclusive education approaches.
- Excellent project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing abilities.
- Fluency in English and Amharic is required.
- Previous experience working with international organizations or NGOs is an advantage.
