Job Summary
The Logistics Coordinator / Service Provider is responsible for overseeing and managing all logistics, procurement, asset, and supply chain functions of the organization. The role ensures that operational activities are implemented efficiently, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with organizational policies, donor regulations, and international best practices.
The position supports program delivery by ensuring timely procurement of goods and services, efficient transportation systems, proper inventory control, and effective coordination with vendors and internal departments.
This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with strong leadership, negotiation, and compliance management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement & Supply Chain Management
- Lead end-to-end procurement processes including planning, sourcing, bidding, evaluation, and contract award
- Ensure transparent and competitive procurement procedures in line with donor and organizational policies
- Develop and maintain supplier databases and ensure vendor performance monitoring
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements to ensure cost efficiency
- Coordinate transportation of goods, equipment, and materials to project sites and field locations
- Ensure efficient shipment handling, clearance processes, and delivery schedules
- Manage logistics planning for workshops, trainings, and field activities
- Oversee storage, warehousing, and distribution systems to ensure timely availability of supplies
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or related field (Master’s degree is an advantage)
- Minimum 9 years of relevant professional experience in logistics/procurement
- Strong experience in NGO/INGO procurement systems is highly desirable
- Knowledge of donor regulations (EU, UN, USAID or similar)
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement management systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Amharic is an advantage)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

- Ability to prepare RFQs, tender documents, and procurement reports
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and procurement systems
