Job Summary
The Project Associate (IBG) will play a key role in supporting the implementation of migration and border governance initiatives under the Immigration and Border Governance (IBG) program. The role involves coordinating project activities, organizing trainings and workshops, liaising with government institutions and development partners, preparing reports, and supporting field-level operations. The selected candidate will contribute to strengthening migration management systems, promoting safe and orderly migration, and enhancing institutional capacity in Ethiopia.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of migration and border governance projects.
- Organize and facilitate capacity-building trainings, workshops, seminars, and stakeholder meetings.
- Coordinate with government agencies, local authorities, and partner organizations to ensure smooth project implementation.
- Support monitoring and evaluation activities by collecting data, preparing reports, and tracking project progress.
- Prepare project documentation, briefing notes, presentations, and administrative reports.
- Conduct field visits to monitor project activities and provide operational support where required.
- Maintain effective communication with internal teams, donors, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and donor requirements.
- Support logistics and administrative arrangements for trainings, travel, and project events.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing and best practices related to migration governance and border management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Migration Studies, International Relations, Law, Political Science, Management, Public Administration, Border Governance, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in project coordination, capacity building, migration management, or related programs.
- Experience working with government stakeholders, NGOs, UN agencies, or international organizations is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to prepare professional reports and maintain accurate project records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel frequently to project implementation areas.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in multicultural environments.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
