The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing the organization’s database systems. The role ensures that company databases operate efficiently, securely, and reliably to support business operations and decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain database management systems.
- Monitor database performance and ensure optimal system performance.
- Perform regular database backups and recovery operations.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and availability of the database systems.
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide technical solutions.
- Implement database security policies and user access controls.
- Monitor system capacity and plan for database growth and expansion.
- Optimize database queries and indexing to improve system efficiency.
- Maintain documentation related to database systems and configurations.
- Support application developers with database design and development.
- Perform database upgrades, patches, and system updates when required.
- Ensure compliance with company IT policies and data protection standards.
Required Qualifications
BSc / MSc Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Work Experience
- 4 years experience with BSc or 2 years experience with MSc in database administration or related IT roles.
- Additional Skills (Advantage)
- Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification.
- Strong knowledge of database security and backup systems.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
