Woreda Team Leader (Program Officer – Medical Doctor) – Concern Worldwide | Tahtay Adiabo, Ethiopia

Job Summary

Concern Worldwide is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Woreda Team Leader (Program Officer – Medical Doctor) to oversee and coordinate health and nutrition programs in Tahtay Adiabo, Ethiopia.

The successful candidate will provide strong technical and managerial leadership in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of public health interventions at the woreda level. This role requires close collaboration with government health offices, community structures, and implementing partners to ensure high-quality service delivery and improved health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities 

1. Program Leadership & Implementation

• Lead the planning, implementation, and supervision of integrated health and nutrition programs
• Ensure alignment of project activities with organizational strategies and national health guidelines
• Oversee field operations to ensure timely and effective service delivery
• Identify operational challenges and provide practical solutions for program improvement

2. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting (M&E)

• Design and implement effective monitoring and evaluation systems
• Track program performance indicators and ensure data quality
• Prepare regular progress reports, technical updates, and donor reports
• Conduct field assessments to evaluate project impact and effectiveness

   Requirements

•   Medical Doctor (MD), Master of Public Health (MPH), or BSc in Public Health/Nursing
• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in public health or humanitarian programs.
• At least 3+ years in management or supervisory roles
  Strong experience in NGO or health project implementation preferred

  Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Excellent coordination and communication skills
• Experience in health project planning and implementation
• Knowledge of M&E systems and reporting tools
• Ability to work in remote and resource-limited settings
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Fluency in Tigrigna (mandatory) and English preferred
