The System Administrator IV is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting the organization’s IT systems, servers, and network infrastructure. The role ensures the stability, security, and efficient operation of computer systems used within the authority. The administrator will monitor system performance, resolve technical issues, implement security measures, and support staff in using technology effectively.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain computer servers, operating systems, and enterprise applications.
- Monitor system performance and ensure the availability and reliability of network services.
- Manage and maintain organizational networks including LAN, WAN, and internet connectivity.
- Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures to protect organizational data.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues and provide timely technical support.
- Maintain and update antivirus software and security systems to protect against cyber threats.
- Manage user accounts, access permissions, and system authentication processes.
- Ensure proper installation and configuration of computer hardware and peripheral devices.
- Maintain IT infrastructure documentation including system configurations and procedures.
- Coordinate with other IT professionals to improve system efficiency and performance.
- Monitor server logs and system alerts to detect and resolve potential issues.
Support the implementation of new IT projects, systems, and digital technologies.
Provide training and technical assistance to staff regarding computer systems and software usage. - Ensure compliance with the organization’s IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
