The RMNCH (Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health) Officer will play a key role in planning, implementing, and monitoring high-quality health interventions aimed at improving maternal and child health outcomes. The position involves close collaboration with regional health bureaus, health facilities, and community stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of RMNCH services in line with national guidelines and organizational strategies.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of RMNCH programs and activities at regional and facility levels.
  • Strengthen the capacity of healthcare providers through training, mentorship, and supportive supervision.
  • Ensure the availability and proper use of RMNCH guidelines, protocols, and tools in supported health facilities.
  • Monitor program performance using appropriate indicators and provide timely reports and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with government health offices, partners, and community structures to improve service uptake and quality.
  • Conduct regular field visits to assess service delivery, identify gaps, and provide technical support.
  • Promote integration of family planning, maternal, newborn, and child health services.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and utilization for decision-making and program improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with donor and organizational standards, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Midwifery, Nursing, or a related health field.
  • Additional training in RMNCH, maternal health, or reproductive health is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of Ethiopia’s health system and RMNCH priorities.
  •  Experience & Skills
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in RMNCH programs or related health services.

    Experience

  • working with NGOs or international organizations is preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of maternal and child health interventions.
  • Excellent communication, training, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good data management, analysis, and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel frequently to field sites.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
