The Senior Auditor is responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control systems, and governance processes within the organization. The position ensures that financial records, operational activities, and internal processes comply with company policies, insurance regulations, and applicable laws. The Senior Auditor also provides recommendations to improve efficiency, transparency, and accountability in all business operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and conduct internal audit assignments across different departments of the company.
- Review and examine financial statements, accounting records, and operational reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems and risk management processes.
- Identify weaknesses, irregularities, or potential fraud in financial and operational procedures.
- Prepare detailed audit reports, findings, and recommendations for senior management.
- Monitor the implementation of corrective actions based on audit findings.
- Ensure the company complies with insurance industry regulations, financial laws, and internal policies.
- Conduct special audits and investigations when required by management.
- Assist in developing and updating audit policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Provide advice and guidance to departments on internal control improvements and best practices.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during external audits and inspections.
- Maintain proper documentation of all audit activities and ensure confidentiality of information.
- Participate in risk assessment processes and contribute to strengthening the corporate governance framework.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, and financial analysis.
- Good understanding of insurance operations and financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple audit assignments.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Good computer skills, especially in accounting and audit software applications.
