The Junior Saving & Credit Officer is responsible for mobilizing savings, facilitating microcredit services, supporting group-based lending, and ensuring proper loan management. The role involves working closely with clients, especially in group lending systems, to promote financial access and sustainability.
- Key Responsibilities
Provide training and continuous guidance to clients on forming and managing joint liability groups. - Promote and market the institution’s financial products and services to potential clients.
- Identify and recruit eligible borrowers based on group lending principles.
Organize and attend regular group - meetings, ensuring proper documentation and attendance.
- Monitor group performance and ensure compliance with internal policies and group bylaws.
- Evaluate loan applications, conduct basic credit assessments, and verify client information.
- Process loan approvals, prepare loan agreements, and ensure proper disbursement procedures.
- Follow up on loan repayments and manage delinquent accounts.
- Build strong relationships with clients to enhance customer retention and trust.
Prepare and submit regular performance and activity reports to supervisors.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / Degree (TVET Level IV or Level III / Level II) in:
- Accounting
- Finance
- Marketing
- Management
- Or related fields
- Prior experience in microfinance or banking is an advantage (but not mandatory for junior level).
