The Translator/Receptionist plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the Embassy by ensuring effective communication, professional front-desk service, and accurate language translation. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a diplomatic environment.

The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for visitors and stakeholders, while also providing high-quality translation and interpretation services to facilitate communication between the Embassy and Japanese-speaking clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and assist visitors (in person, phone, and email)
  • Ensure smooth communication flow within the embassy.
  • Provide translation and interpretation services.
  • Handle administrative and front desk duties.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the embassy.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Communication
  • Office Management
  • Or any related field

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years experience (translator, receptionist, or similar role)
  • Strong proficiency in English and Japanese languages
  • Experience in embassies or international organizations (advantage)
  • Must have:
  • Valid work permit or permanent residence in Japan
  • Good skills in:
  • Communication
  • Teamwork
  • Organization
  • Computer use
