The Data Collector/Enumerator is responsible for gathering accurate and reliable field data to support the study on digital public infrastructure in Ethiopia. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in diverse field environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct structured and semi-structured interviews with respondents using approved questionnaires.
  • Collect accurate, complete, and reliable data using digital tools (ODK, SurveyCTO, KoboToolbox) or paper-based methods.
  • Clearly explain the purpose of the study and obtain informed consent from participants.
  • Follow assigned sampling procedures, field routes, and daily data collection targets.
  • Ensure proper and unbiased recording of responses and field observations.
  • Review completed questionnaires daily to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Maintain respectful and professional interaction with respondents, ensuring cultural sensitivity.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality and privacy of all collected information.
  • Submit daily progress reports and communicate regularly with supervisors.
  • Handle and maintain data collection devices (smartphones/tablets) responsibly.
  • Report field challenges, inconsistencies, or technical issues promptly.
  • Participate in training sessions, briefings, and team meetings.
  • Adhere to research protocols, ethical standards, and organizational guidelines.
