The HR and Administration Officer is responsible for supporting the effective management of human resources and administrative operations within the organization. The role ensures compliance with organizational policies and local labor laws while contributing to a productive and professional working environment. The position also supports recruitment, staff welfare, performance management, and office administration functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Human Resources Management
- Manage the full recruitment cycle including job posting, screening, interviews, and onboarding of new staff.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR databases.
- Support performance management processes, including appraisals and staff development plans.
- Ensure compliance with organizational HR policies, procedures, and Ethiopian labor laws.
- Provide guidance to staff on HR policies, benefits, and disciplinary procedures.
Administrative Support
- Oversee daily office administration and ensure smooth operations.
- Manage office supplies, assets, and inventory systems.
- Coordinate travel arrangements, accommodation, and logistics for staff.
Ensure proper documentation and filing systems are maintained. - Staff Welfare and Relations
Promote a positive work environment and staff engagement initiatives. - Handle employee grievances and support conflict resolution processes.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in HR and administration.
- Experience working in humanitarian or NGO settings is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Somali and Amharic is an asset.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
